Thai IX 40th Anniversary Reunion

Yosemite Park: September 17 – 20, 2004

Yosemite, Yes! Thailand, No

Based on the response from Thai IXers, the Reunion Planning Team* has decided to forego Thailand, since only a few were able to go to Bangkok this year. As for Yosemite options, the vast majority of you chose the September 17-20 dates. So please mark your calendars and join the 40-50 people planning to gather in Yosemite!

If you want to come, here’s what to do:

  • Reserve a room at the Yosemite Bug Hostel ASAP

Lee Stetson has secured a limited number of rooms that will be assigned on a first-come basis. Everyone wanting to reserve a room will need to e-mail caroline@yosemitebug.com or call 209/966-6666. (Let her know you are with the Thai IX Group.) You will need to give a credit card # with expiration date, your phone number and the number of people in your party. A two weeks notice for cancellation is required. Any rooms not reserved by August 1st will be released. The rates are $85 for weekends (Friday and Saturday), $65 for weekdays (Sunday), so that’s $235 for the planned time frame. People can extend on either side of the three nights at the weekday rate of $65/night.

  • Get help with ground transportation by contacting Paul Strasburg

Paul Strasburg will help with ground transportation to Yosemite for people who are flying into San Francisco, Oakland, or even Sacramento Airport and want to ride with other Thai IXers. After you make your travel plans, send the details to Paul and he will arrange car-pooling and minivan rental, as appropriate.

Some of you may be driving to Yosemite, not traveling by air, but in any case let Paul know when and how you will arrive. Paul’s email address is pstrasburg@earthlink.net. For those without e-mail, send your request for ground transportation, along with your travel details, to Paul at Box 7445 in Menlo Park, CA 94026.

If you have suggestions for things for us to do in and around Yosemite, let us know.

Address all general correspondence to thainine@hotmail.com (or for, snail mailers, to Carol Radich at 669 Ellis, Lake Oswego, OR 97034).

Picnics, hikes, and plenty of time to relax are all on the agenda.
