Thai IX 40^th Anniversary Reunion

We Celebrate at Yosemite: September 17 – 20, 2004

The reunion is now less than two months away!

This newsletter gives final details, a map to the Bug Hostel, and contact information. If you haven’t made your reservations yet, we hope to hear from you. There is still room at the Bug Hostel.

• plan to attend Lee’s dinner on Saturday, 9/18 and/or the lunch at the Ahwahnee Hotel on Monday, the 20^th. Please RSVP by sending an e-mail to thainine@hotmail.com with the number of people attending each event.

Accommodations: Caroline at the Bug Hostel still has one more private room with shared bath as well as a six-bed dormitory room with private bath that costs $16 per bed per night. She offered to discount the cost by one bed and let four people stay there. There are also tent cabins and dorm spaces available. If you can't get a reservation, contact Lee (209/742-4663 or leestetson@sierratel.com), and he'll either break another room loose at the Bug Hostel or refer you to other hotels/motels in the area.

To reserve a room, send an e-mail to caroline@yosemitebug.com or call 209 966-6666. Tell her you are with the Thai IX group. You will need to give a credit card # with expiration date, phone number, and the number in your party. There’s a two-week notice for cancellation. (Remember, any rooms not reserved by August 1st will be released.) The discounted rates are $85 for weekends (Fri. and Sat.), $65 for weekdays (Sun.), so that’s $235 for the planned timeframe. You can extend on either side of the three nights at the weekday rate of $65/night.

Transportation: Paul Strasburg will try to arrange car-pooling or van rental for anyone who needs it. If you are driving and can help with carpooling, call Paul at 650/854-7743 or send an email to pstrasburg@earthlink.net. After August 7, Paul will be out of town, but Bonnie Britton is his backup and can be reached at brbritto@pacbell.net.
